Miss Haberdash protests ....

The Counihan Gallery in Brunswick has a new exhibition which launched last night. "In the Public Interest" celebrates activism, public protest, and free speech in the practice of Australian artists. There is much to reflect upon, especially with an Australian election imminent. Works by Wendy Black, Textaqueen and Liz Walker literally spell it out.

Penny Byrne (my favourite), makes art from porcelain figures and found objects. This is sculpture that really does makes you laugh and cry.
