Miss Haberdash pattern pieces ....
I've long been intrigued by dress patterns and have a treasured collection. The language is technical, grain, notch, baste, seam , bias, selvedge. The tissue is fragile, mapped by a web of dots and dashes only the initiated can understand.
Hormazd Narielwalla is an artist, fashion illustrator and author. The unique pieces above use French domestic dressmaking patterns as a base, with blocks of colour added to enhance the abstraction. Look out for his pieces using tailors pattern blocks there is a sense of history and a personal story to each piece.
